Possibly given through Dr Thomas Arnold, Headmaster Rugby School 1828-1841, or Andrew Bloxam, then a boy at Rugby School, with whom Buckland corresponded and who later gave his own collection of Mammalian remains from Little Lawford to Oxford University Museum. Rugby School Geological Museum was started by Dr Thomas Arnold, predating the Rugby School Natural History Society, founded 23 March 1867, with which it is believed to have been incorporated. Educated Rugby School (1877-1882). scientifically very conscientious collector of fossils, backed up by extensive literature research, won Rugby Sch Nat Hist Soc Prize Essay in 1881, publicised in the Report for that year. Whilst member of Rugby Sch Nat Hist Soc he held the Geological 'Album'.
