RICRU: Republic of Ireland Collection Research Unit

The Republic of Ireland Collection Research Unit is at present a gleam in the eye of a couple of enthusiastic natural scientists in Dublin. But watch this space!

However, a good beginning has been made with a survey of Geological collections in Ireland, and the results published in Coprolite, the Newsletter of the Geological Curators Group as: A Survey of the State and Status of Geological Collections in Museums and Private Collections in the Republic of Ireland. The Federation for Natural Sciences Collections Research (FENSCORE) database was compiled using data from multiple sources as part of a project started in 1980.
